A message from the Chairman

Good Day fellow UMians,

It is with greatest pride that we present to you another mechanism where we can be in touch with one another, the website. Your UM Alumni Association, Inc. (UMAAI) is doing its utmost best in attaining a desire of our University President Dr. Guillermo Torres Jr. to be in constant communication with one another.

After formulating our vision "A DYNAMIC ORGANIZATION RESPONSIVE AND COMMITTED TO THE WELFARE OF ITS MEMBERS AND SOCIETY!" and with the Mission "The UMAAI shall provide the venue for a meaningful relationship, partnership and links for opportunities among members and stakeholders" I truly believe that this website will provide the best tool for all UMians, wherever you are, to be connected.

An important role of the alumni is to be the keepers of tradition. Even as school leaders and staff come and go, former students act as a repository of knowledge. They are then able to advise the new administrations on the history of the school. The Alumni are the cultural ballast, ensuring that in today's fast-changing environment and educational landscape, the values of the school are firmly rooted.

There is a saying, "when the successor achieves greatness the forerunner is equally glorified." Likewise, when UMians do well, the University can take pride in knowing that their tradition of excellence has lived on.

"Each of us has left a mark during our student days at the University. We have made life-long friendships chose wives and husbands, laid the foundation for a future life. Each of us gave something of ourselves to the University and in turn the University gave something to us. These are ties that are not easily broken."
